Sure Smile in Owings Mills, MD
Dr. Nova uses digital mouth scans to accurately plan your treatment with Sure Smile clear aligners. First, he takes digital impressions of teeth which create 3-D computer-generated images. He sends these images to a dental lab to fabricate your custom aligners. When the aligners are complete, Dr. Nova will place the first set with you in our office to ensure a good fit and provide guidance on changing the aligners and caring for them during treatment.
You can gently brush your aligners with liquid soap and water to clean them. Do not use hot water as this can warp the aligners. You may also use a mouthguard cleaner to deep clean your aligner trays. To prevent staining, remove your Invisalign trays to eat and drink. You can drink water with the aligners in your mouth, but do not eat or drink anything else. Caring for your aligners will prevent delays in completing your treatment on time.
Sure Smile FAQs
Read answers to frequently asked questions about Sure Smile below:
What are the benefits of Sure Smile
Sure Smile aligners are clear, which means they are a much more discreet option than metal braces. Patients can remove their aligners, which means they do not have any restrictions against hard or chewy foods. Clear Aligners also typically have a shorter treatment time than traditional braces. It is simple to care for Sure Smile aligners. Because the trays are customized to conform to your teeth, they do not irritate the gum tissue.
Am I a candidate for Sure Smile?
The best candidates for orthodontic treatment using clear aligners have mild to moderately crooked teeth or bite concerns. Traditional braces are best for children and adults who have moderate to severe orthodontic problems.
Will clear aligners stain my teeth?
The clear aligners do not have any compounds or dyes that will stain teeth. However, we do recommend that patients remove their aligners before eating or drinking to prevent tooth staining and to prevent decay.
Does Sure Smile hurt like metal braces?
Metal braces use brackets and wires that can poke and irritate the gum tissue. Patients also feel tooth pain or soreness when their braces are tightened at regular visits. You may experience a feeling of pressure or mild soreness after placing a new set of Invisalign aligners, but this will typically fade within a day.
